Firstly, apologies that it's been so long since the first (and what was the last) update on this blog. Technical difficulties prevented me from updating you as often as I'd like.
It appears that I am back online just in time to wish you all a happy, and safe, new year. If you're out and about over the new year period, you might be interested in this recently issued advice:
Plan for a safe New Year
We will keep this blog up to date in 2009 - please feel free to leave a comment or a question and I'll get back to you in the new year.
In the meantime, have a look at what we've been up to recently on our pages on the Hampshire Constabulary website:

My first blog!
I’m Dick Partridge and I’m the Safer Neighbourhood Sergeant for both Northam and St Marys in Southampton.
This is my first attempt at doing a blog – but hopefully I can use it to keep you updated with the work we're doing in your area, what we’ve identified as community priorities with your help, how we’re tackling these and other resident concerns and how we can work with you to make a real difference to the areas you live in.
Most of you will know my team - they are:
Northam
• PC Dave Houghton
• PC Paul Rose
• PCSO Ed Wiggans
• PCSO Mark Reynolds
St Mary's
• PC Simon Bradshaw
• PC Steve McKenzie
• PC Phil Warwick
• PCSO Scott Morrison
• PCSO Jade Missen
• PCSO Cat Symonds
• PCSO Kenneth Payne
With this blog I want to try to address your worries, update you on what’s happening and do a sort of neighbourhood watch update (we only have three schemes – Chapel Estate, Albion Towers and Holyrood Estate – so lets get more started!)
We're working on all sorts of projects at the moment - helping to improve the area where you live - and the work we do often comes about because you've told us there's a specific problem. Find out more about the community priorities we're currently working on where you live:
St Mary's
Northam
What's New?

A new face in Northam! - PCSO Ed Wiggans joins us from Tadley. He'll be concentrating on Northam estate and getting involved in the Peel St Business Watch group.
Get to know him as he'll be in your area a lot!
And..
Consultation is currently underway regarding the cage in St James Street. Groundworks trust have already put a plan together – but we’re interested in hearing what you thing about the plans – Let me know what you think – we need your thoughts to make this work!
