Sgt Partridge is away from work until February 24.
In the meantime take a look at the policing pledge, which sets out the service that all police forces nationally have agreed and signed up to.
Or read about Operation Nemesis, our force wide campaign to reduce burglary.
Please feel free to continue to make comments on the blog - if I can't find someone appropriate to answer while Dick is away, I'll make sure he responds when he returns.
Thanks

ReplyDeletePlease can you tell me if it is compulsory to have a silly tattoo to become a PCSO?
Many thanks to anon for the coment about PCSOs and tattoos. Without being too presumptious - it seems that our advertising of the blog has worked its way to the youth clubs!
ReplyDeleteThe answer is of course, no you do not have to have a silly tattoo to be a PCSO. However it does show that having a tattoo is not necessarily a bar to joining Hampshire Constabulary.
This gives me an opportunity to mention the excellent work that our PCSO do. I know there has sometimes been some negative press about them but we have to remember what they are employed for. PCSO provide a high visibility reassurance presence.
I have 2 PCSOs for Northam and 4 for St Marys. Our PCSOs get out into the community, attend as many meetings and meeting places that we know of, they complete follow up visits to victims of vehicle crime, burglary and criminal damage. We have 3 junior PCSO schemes on our patch - these were the first in the county, and it’s the PCSO that run these schemes - organising the children and liaising with a variety of agencies. PCSO are also used for scene guarding at major incidents, complete house to house enquiries following burglaries and other incidents. If you wish to know more about PCSO or how to become one, please check out www.hampshire.police.uk.
